Come back here later to see what it is!
IJCL North Convention is one of 2 Latin Conventions that take place throughout the year. This convention is much larger than South Convention, and students have many more opportunities to participate and celebrate Latin. This 3-day convention will bring hundreds of Latin students together to celebrate Latinity through various activities, competitions, and gatherings. The event features art competitions, academic competitions, costume contests, olympics, and certamen.
The convention will be held from Thursday, February 6 to Saturday, February 8 2023 at the Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Skokie near Chicago, Illinois. The cost to attend is $275 per student. This cost includes transportation, lodging, meals, and convention registration. We have scholarship money available, however, so if the cost would prevent you from participating, please submit a form for the Mary Lee Muniz travel scholarship (linked below).
Students who attend North Convention are required to take at least 4 tests for the convention (2 during each session). I also strongly encourage students to participate in additional contest categories. These include artistic, creative, and academic categories. There is something there for everyone! If you're having trouble picking a category, ask me for help!
This year's theme is is still to be announced.
