About Ms. Bernaix

Years Teaching: 10

Years at CMS: 4

Education: BA of English Literature and a BA of Secondary Education from SIUE

Master's of Library and Information Science with an emphasis on school librarianship from University of Missouri-Columbia

What I love most about teaching: Getting to know my students and helping build their reading and writing skills so they feel confident and ready for high school.

When I'm not teaching, you can find me... reading at the library, trying to keep my garden alive, watching my favorite shows, or spending time with my husband, Aaron, and our two cats, Watson and Wayne.

I'm due with my first baby in November (right after Thanksgiving), and Mrs. Mills will be my long-term sub.

About Ms. Petroff

Years Teaching: 13--all at CMS

Education: Bachelor’s in Special Education

Master’s in Special Education. Reading Specialist Certification.

All earned from SIUE.

What I love most about teaching: Helping my students find a strategy or tool that guides them to success in their academics. Everyone learns differently, my hope is to help find what can work for each individual student and build on that throughout the year.

When I'm not teaching, you can find me... spending time with my husband, and our son, Lincoln (2), and daughter, Reagan (1). They all keep me very busy. When I do have time for myself, you can find me reading my kindle, catching up on my shows, enjoying a good meal, or online shopping.
