Carleton has some fantastic resources to help support you in your academics. Two programs that we recommend checking out is the CSAS Learning and Writing Development series. This series allows students to enhance their academic knowledge and skills to succeed. They also offer Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS), where you can work through difficult material or ask a question that you did not ask in lecture. The sessions are run by students who have previously taken the class and have received an A- or above.
Carleton's Alumni Mentorship program pairs motivated upper-year students and recent graduates with an alumni mentor. Mentors are established professionals who help students and recent graduates develop skills for the workplace and expand their professional networks. The applications are currently closed for the 2021-22 October-April program, but you can still fill out an application to be a mentee or mentor to keep on file for the following year.
CASG was designed and has operated out of the desire for student's input in the curriculum. They function as an intermediary between students, and faculty and administration. This allows students to influence the University's administration and governance. They advocate for student's academic freedom, and successfully passed a motion through Senate for the extension of compassionate grading for the fall term. CASG is an excellent way to get involved through their council, or receive funding through sponsorship and scholarships.
