Classes worked on getting the beds ready for winter. Weeding and spreading straw on the beds.
Kids in small groups planted a six pack of zinnias, one six pack per child, worked on weeding the beds & hunted for insects. The planted six packs went into the greenhouse on campus.
Ashley L. Hall, a graduate student in the Environmental Science program at Oregon State University, is pictured in the school pollinator garden at Kalmiopsis Elementary School in Brookings. As a part of her field research, Ashley established this new pollinator garden at the school with the help of the Curry County Master Gardeners.
