Hi! My name is Chelsea Eaves! I am so excited to be your Language Arts AIG Teacher this school year! I grew up in Currituck County where I attended GES, CCMS, and CCHS, and I always dreamed of coming back here to teach. I am a proud graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English. Go Pirates! I began my career at JES teaching 3rd grade where I taught for 3 years and then transitioned to 5th grade where I taught math, science, and writing for 3 years. During this time, I obtained my North Carolina Professional Educator's License for teaching Academically and Intellectually Gifted students in grades K-12 and completed my master’s degree at Elizabeth City State University in Elementary Education with a concentration in Teacher Leadership and as a result obtained a North Carolina Professional Educator's License as a Curriculum Instructional Specialist. After school, you’ll usually find me at CCHS where I am also the head of the cheerleading program. I am the head coach of the Varsity Football Cheerleading Squad and the Varsity Competition Team at CCHS in addition to overseeing the cheerleading program. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 6 years. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and pets! I have two cats, PeeDee (yes, like the pirate) and Scout, and a Chiweenie (Dachshund and Chihuahua mix) named Charley! I love time in the sunshine and by the water, and I am an avid beachcomber and sea glass collector. I look forward to working with all of you to create amazing learning experiences for students!
