4th and 5th Grade
RECORDER
The recorder is a wind instrument that students learn as they reinforce their music literacy (learning to read and write). Each student will receive a recorder to play in class and at home. Students return their recorder at the end of 4th grade and will get to keep your recorder at the end of 5th grade!
Owning an instrument is a big responsibility.
Recorders are to be brought home to practice, but must be brought back to school on days you have music class (a great way to make sure this happens is to put it right back in your backpack after each time you practice at home).
Students who do not bring recorders in class understand that their grade may be affected.
If a student forgets their recorder, they will have to participate by using a pencil or other material to finger along with activities.
Ms. St.George only has enough new recorders for each student to receive one. If a recorder is lost or broken, you will need to replace it.
