If you are a Veteran and would like to talk:

  • The Veterans Crisis Line 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1, To Chat www.VeteransCrisisLine.net/chat, or Text 838255 This line connects veterans in crisis and their families and friends with qualified, caring Department of Veterans Affairs responders through confidential toll-free 27/7 hotline, online chat, or text. Support for deaf and hard of hearing individuals is available.

  • Vet Center Call Center 1-877-WAR-VETS (927-9387) Around-the-clock confidential call center where combat Veterans and their families can call to talk about their military experience or any other issue they are facing in their readjustment to civilian life. The staff is comprised of combat Veterans from several eras as well as families members of combat Veterans. This benefit is prepaid through the Veteran’s military service.

If you are a Veteran and are in need of local resources:

  • VA Healthcare If you have a fever, coughing, and shortness of breath, call your PCP at the Bend CBOC at 541-647-5200 option 3 before going into a clinic, urgent care, or emergency room. You can also send your doctor a secure message through My HealtheVet.

  • VA Community Care 360-759-1674 for questions about billing, community care, travel, enrollment and to report a visit to the ER (must be done within 72 hours).

  • Central Oregon Vet Center 541-749-2112 counseling via video connect or telephone options are available.

  • Central Oregon Veterans Council in response to COVID-19 the COVC has a list of volunteers who are running errands, picking up and delivering meds/groceries, and providing peer support. Limited supplies of toilet paper and hand sanitizer are available to those in need.   • Central Oregon Veterans Outreach 541-383-2793 provides housing assistance to qualified veterans. Clothing, food, water, propane, and other sustenance items to veterans who are homeless or in need.
