Student Support

School Counselors help students and their families create plans to meet the needs of each student. Individual goals for mental health & wellness, graduation, and/or post-secondary plans are developed and then monitored over their high school career, providing the support and resources needed to achieve those goals. School Counselors also provide valuable assistance to students and families dealing with issues such as mental health challenges, traumatic family events, or other psycho-social issues that may affect academic achievement.

At Culver High School, teachers, counselors, administrators, support staff, and families work together to help all students reach their academic potential and to prepare for college admission, career training, and overall post-graduation success. Culver is proud to offer a variety of courses that challenge our students in a variety of approaches.

From traditional courses such as English and Math, to hands on courses like Agriculture and Art, we have something for everyone. In addition to live classroom courses, we also offer online classes through Edgenuity. Between online and live classes, students have, students have many courses to choose from each year.

Through direct and indirect services, Culver counselors support the social and emotional development of students. We attend to each student's individual growth and social maturity, specifically in the areas of personal management and social interactions.

We are here to support students as they need, whether through planned appointments or in crisis situations. Though we do not conduct therapy at school, we work with students on short-term, focused issues. In the can of a crisis, we address immediate needs and help connect families to outside resources in the community.

Students today have many options from which to choose after they leave Culver High School. Whether you're planning on going to Central Oregon Community College, gaining on the job training and certification, or headed off to a four year university like the University of Oregon or Portland State University, we've got your back and are here to help answer any questions that you might have.

We use the Naviance platform for post-secondary planning. This platform includes national information from a variety of areas, including financial aid and scholarships, self-employment, occupations, apprenticeships, and postsecondary schools.
