Sustainable Biorefineries. Algae are a potential feedstock for fuels, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, industry chemicals among others. We, at Sure Labs, are bioprospecting different strains of algae for products and processes. We are working at laboratory scale studies on different products from algae, and scale-up of successful products. Further studies on development of transgenic algal strains are also underway.

Wetlands. Wetlands are popularly called as 'Kidneys of Earth' for their yeoman service in pollution mitigation from anthropogenic activities. We primarly work on the major primary producers of aquatic ecosystems, especially Wetlands. Sure Labs works on the Wetlands at organismal, community, and ecosystem levels. Studies on phytoplankton interactions, eco-physiology, avian diversity, and environmental mitigation of polluted wetlands are being perused.

Water, Waste & Climate Change. Clean water is a deprived resource for millions. Even water which is perceived as clean has many emerging pollutants such as microplastics. It is our endeavour at Sure Labs to work on emerging pollutants such as microplastics and plastic leachates. Besides, we analyze climate change mitigation and adaptation policies. Finally, waste management and water/ waste/ wastewater analysis are part of our daily research routine.
