ASB Package Pickup:

The ASB package gear is arriving tomorrow which means you can pick up next week! If you ordered an ASB Navy or Columbia package OR a Class Shirt you can come pick up at your designated time. We are setting the pick up times by grade level (see times below). Please enter the parking lot on the Portobello side and come down the first lane. You will give the attendant your name and they will get you your gear. Thank you for your patience.

• 9th: 10/1-10:00am-11:30am

• 10th: 10/2-1:00pm-2:30pm

• 11th: 10/2-10:30am-12:00pm

• 12th: 10/2-9:00-10:30am

If you have multiple students that are different grade levels picking up, you may come during either time slot.

If you cannot make it to your scheduled time slot, the make-up pick up will be in the parking lot:

10/6: 9:00am to 10:00am

If you would still like to purchase gear, you may do so on 10/13 in the ASB room from 9:00-11:00 or email chillman@cuhsd.org to make alternate arrangements to purchase after that date.

Senior Portraits

You still have a lot of time to get your Senior Portraits taken. The deadline for yearbook submission is December 15th. Please book your appointment by clicking here. Weekly Parent Q&A With Branham Administration

Starting in October, in order to accommodate more schedules, Branham Administration will be holding our weekly open Q&A sessions on the following days/times:

• 1st, 3rd, 5th Friday of the month = 7:45am - 8:30am

• 2nd, 4th Thursday of the month = 5:30pm - 6:00pm

Reminders with the Zoom link are sent out to parents the day before via Remind. Please let us know at least 1 day in advance if you need translation services so we can make necessary arrangements.

September 15th to October 15th is Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month! We want to feature some of our Bruins that identify at Hispanic/Latinx/Chicanx. If you are interested in being featured, or identifying an individual you think should be featured, please fill out the form here.

The Bruin Appreciation Group has been working on a little surprise for AVID students! We are coordinating a gift pick-up at Branham on Tuesday the 29th of September, from 3-5pm. Upon arrival, please make sure you are wearing your mask and socially distancing yourself. Make your way toward the ASB room (right near the front gate) and we will hand you your gift! (There will be signs to help navigate you). If you cannot make it to these designated times, then one of the students from the group will get back to you and make plans to drop it off at your house. Hopefully, you all will enjoy the little gifts and they make your day!

Branham Sports Boosters Meeting – Monday, October 5th @ 7pm via Zoom

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY

A reminder that student/athletes must demonstrate academic eligibility to participate in high school athletics. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required as well as being on track to graduate. With the delay of the start of athletic contests, the first 2020-21 grade check that will impact eligibility for athletic contests are the grades at the end of the 1st semester. Student/athletes and their parents are encouraged to monitor their grades to ensure they have at least a 2.0 GPA and will be eligible at the end of the 1st semester.

SPORTS PHYSICALS

The next round of sports physicals at BHS have been scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd at 2:45pm in the Athletic Training Room (first come, first served, cost is $20). Bring a completed copy of the 2020-21 Athletic Physical Form (available HERE ) for the doctor to sign.

You may also schedule a sports physical with your family physician. Bring the 2020-21 Athletic Physical Form (available HERE ) with you for the doctor to fill out. Student/athletes and parents complete the rest of this form.

NOTE: ONLY PHYSICALS COMPLETED AFTER JUNE 7TH, 2020 WILL BE VALID FOR THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR.

ALL GRADES

The 6-week grades have been finalized. Please know that counselors will be reaching out to students who received D/F grades. Our goal is to ensure we provide the support needed to help these students get back on track to pass their course(s) by the end of the semester.

YWCA Teen Empowerment Program

Starting October 14th, Branham will be partnering with the YWCA to host their Teen Empower Program (TEP) every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 12:00pm-1:00pm. TEPs are here to educate on healthy relationships, how to help those who have experienced sexual assault, and how to be a safe bystander in our communities. These presentations will equip you with tools to end violence on campus and be a part of the movement for change.
