Biography:

Prof. Dr. Uma Shankar was born in India in 1974 and has been working on Financial Markets, Financial Institutions, Financial Services issues since 1999. He is now a faculty member in Accounting Department at Catholic University in Erbil. He was formally a faculty member at Tishk International University in Erbil. Prof. Dr. Uma Shankar holds a Ph.D. in Capital markets in finance in Business Management and two Master’s degrees. The first Master’s Degree M. Com., in Accounting (Advanced Cost and Management Accounting), the second Master’s Degree MBA., in Business Administration (in Corporate Financial Management), and pursuing a third-degree ACCA in the UK.

His current research and interests include Capital markets (Stock markets), Investment Management, Accounting, and Financial Institutions and Financial Services. Prof. Dr. Uma Shankar’s research work includes 17 papers published in the Journal of Scopus, SCI, SSCI, AHCI of a web of science, and Book Publication. Prof. Dr. Uma Shankar has 23 years of rich teaching experience for UG, PG, and chartered accountant students of ICAI from different social-economic backgrounds communities and worked in Africa (Ethiopia), Middle East Countries (Iraq), and Asia (India).

Prof. Dr. Uma Shankar has been awarded the Best Teacher and Acharya Seva Puraskar from the International Lions club in 2011 for his extraordinary commitment, exceptional achievements, and excellent capability in helping students evolve into good citizens with sound character, principles, and for the service to the student community. Prof. Dr. Uma Shankar also qualified in Eligibility Tests, UGC- NET, AP – SET, and JNTUH – FET in 2012 in India.
