Licensure

We are very happy that you have decided to obtain a graduate degree here at The Catholic University of America. Graduate nursing credentials will help you advance in the profession. Once you have completed your studies, you may be taking a national certification exam and/or seeking advanced practice nursing state licensure. Each state has unique requirements for those who wish to obtain advanced practice licensure.

Please determine the licensure requirements in the state(s) where you plan to practice. You can do this by looking at this website, which contains an electronic list for each state’s board of nursing. We urge you to review the state(s) of interest to determine whether you may require any additional course or continuing education requirements.
