Industry Meetups (IM+) are an informal, casual opportunity for students to discover how their major fits into specific industries, connect with industry professionals/alumni and recruiters, and learn to align major, industry interests, and skills with employment opportunities. Companies can lead informal industry-related discussions, review resumes, and share opportunities.

Why should your company attend?

Companies can directly cultivate future candidates through educating students about how majors, interests, and skills (including skills needed) can lead them to a career—maybe even at your company! Plus, this is a no-cost event for your company to attend.

What types of students are expected?

Students from a wide range of majors (some related to the industry, some not) across all class levels may attend. While students may come to ask major/industry related questions, others may be interested in resume reviews or job opportunities.

What companies would be a good fit?

Companies who hire a range of majors including Liberal Arts and Humanities majors. We will review interested employers to ensure they are a good fit for this type of event. There are 12 spaces available for each event.

What is expected of companies at this event?

Companies can send a recruiter to lead a discussion with several students related to how their majors fit into the industry or your company, what skills are relevant to the workplace, and other relevant discussions on preparing for a career in the industry. Additionally, a recruiter can provide resume reviews for pre-registered students. BONUS: participating recruiters can set up a company display table at the event to help further promote their company.

Is there anything else a company can do to make this a fun, relaxing event?
