Digital Presentation Rooms

Technology Services is committed to enriching the educational experience at The Catholic University of America. We support all digital presentation rooms that are managed by Enrollment Services, as well as maintain equipment for loan to Faculty for academic instruction.

Classrooms and Event Spaces

You can request use of a Digital Presentation room at events.cua.edu.

Rooms contain one or more of the following: wall display (monitor or project0r), instructor lectern PC, sound system, microphones, student computers.

Obtaining Urgent Technology Support

For urgent technology support in a classroom, please call 202-319-6432.

For urgent technology support for your event in a hall or conference room, please call 202-319-5291.

Enrollment Services-managed rooms have top priority for technology issues that need to be resolved.

For classrooms that are not managed by Enrollment Services, Technology Services investigates A/V or computer problems. If equipment needs to be replaced or a service vendor called, the department that manages the room assumes the cost.

Enrollment Services Rooms

Digital presentation rooms managed by Enrollment Services are supported by Technology Services and include the following equipment:

  • Microsoft Windows computer with monitor on the lectern, with the classroom/lab software image installed.

  • Cables to connect a device to the wall display via HDMI or USB-C

  • Control panel for the audio and video equipment in the room

  • Lectern monitor so the presenter can see the Windows computer display

  • Wall display (projector or flat screen monitor) connected to lectern computer or presenter's device

  • High-quality room camera to facilitate hybrid instruction; preset zoom settings selectable by instructor from the lectern control panel

  • USB document camera connected to lectern computer to facilitate hybrid instruction

  • USB ports on the computer to support external device connection.

  • Auditoriums generally have both wireless handheld and lapel microphones in the lectern, depending on the size of the auditorium.

Equipment Loans

Technology Services offers a limited set of hardware that can be borrowed for events on and off campus. Please submit a request by sending email to techsupport@cua.edu. Requests must be submitted one week in advance to allow time for scheduling support. Maximum duration of a loan is one week.
