Superintendent's message

Dear Class of 2024,

Welcome! We are so glad you have selected Connecticut’s technical high schools as your choice for high school. Welcome to a family of go-getters, innovators and change makers. With the education you receive over the next four years, you’ll not only learn an invaluable trade skill, but you’ll also learn how to be mature, confident leaders and productive citizens.

At Connecticut’s technical high schools, students can choose from numerous technical programs that can lead to dozens of rewarding careers or post-secondary educational opportunities. We also offer SkillsUSA, sports and extracurricular activities, paid work opportunities and the opportunity to earn national industry certifications. Please take advantage of everything we have to offer!

The first year of high school can be one of the most challenging in a student’s academic career. Increased expectations, changes in school routines, and new social and academic pressures can be overwhelming. Many of you will start contemplating early on where you want to go and who you want to be after high school. Our number one goal is providing you with the support you need to be the most successful version of yourself and stay on track to graduation. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

This year is certainly different due to the conditions created by the Coronavirus. Ideally we would like to see you face-to-face for freshman orientation. Since that isn’t a possibility at this time due to health and safety concerns, we have created this virtual freshman orientation to get you started with the information you need to know. Please click on your school’s webpage on the right side of this page to start your orientation.

If you have questions, your school’s counseling department is here to help. Don’t be shy about contacting them.

Desafortunadamente debido a la situación actual no es posible reunirnos en este momento por razones de salud y seguridad.
