Coach Jordan started coaching the golf team at Cheney Tech in 2025 as an assistant coach before becoming the Head Coach in the 2026 season. 

I started playing golf at the age of 3 and quickly started playing as much as I could. There was a course within walking distance of my house so we would go all the time. By the age of 6, I was accepted to golf camps that tied to the Junior PGA for players 10 and up. In 2009 I joined the Cheney Tech Golf Team as a freshman player. The following year I became the captain of the team for the 2010-2012 seasons and helped bring Cheney Tech to a state tournament final twice. After high school I played in various leagues and tournaments gaining recognition all over the East Coast and playing semi-professionally for about a year. I am excited to be returning to the golf team as a coach.

My coaching philosophy for golf focuses on developing well-rounded student-athletes who grow both as players and as individuals. Golf is a unique sport that challenges athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally. My goal is to help players learn how to manage all three aspects of the game. I believe athletics provides an incredible opportunity to teach discipline, accountability, resilience, and teamwork; skills that extend far beyond competition. 

I emphasize fundamentals, course management, and consistent practice habits while encouraging players to develop confidence in their own abilities. Just as important as technical skill is the mental side of golf. Staying focused, managing adversity, and maintaining composure throughout a round for example.

Golf is also a game built on honesty, integrity, and respect. I expect our players to represent themselves, their teammates, and their school with sportsmanship and professionalism at all times.

Ultimately, success in our program is measured not only by lower scores, but by improvement, effort, and the character our players demonstrate both on and off the course.
