New application in February 2025. Prizes range from $500 - $1500. Open to all Connecticut High School students. The essay topics include the health and safety risks facing emergency responders, highway work zone safety, and the opioid epidemic.

American Savings Foundation Robert T. Kenney Scholars - deadline March 31, 2025
Most scholarship awards range from $1,000 - $4,000 for the academic year. New awards are typically $1,000 - $1,500 and has the potential to increase as student's progress through their program. Open to current high school senior, current college student, or a nontraditional adult student. Students do not need to be PELL eligible to have financial need, but they must demonstrate the need for financial assistance.
Big Y Scholarships- deadline February 1, 2025. Open to CT high school students. All Big Y scholarships recognize academic merit and achievement. Big Y has awarded over $6 million to over 8,200 students through the scholarship program.

Bridgewater Grange Scholarship - Deadine usually May. Check for 2025 updates. For students residing in Bridgewater, Roxbury, Washington, New Milford or Woodbury who intend to pursue (or are pursuing) a recognized program of study to further their agriculture-related education. The applicant must be able to demonstrate hands-on knowledge of and interest in farming through extra-curricular activities, work experience, family background, or other experience and embody the Grange’ values of good character, citizenship and community service. Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Scholarships - varied deadlines. The Connecticut Bar Foundation’s Annual Statewide High School Essay Contest - deadline February 25, 2025. Winner: $2,000 and (2) Runner-up: $1,000
The Connecticut Building Congress Scholarship Fund (CBCSF) - deadline March 1 2025. Scholarships have ranged from $2,500 to $4,000 per year, renewable for up to 5 years. Check back with CBCSF for 2025 application.
The Connecticut Building Congress Scholarship Fund (CBCSF) announces that it will once again be offering scholarships to graduating Connecticut high school students entering college-level programs in architecture, construction-related engineering, construction management, surveying, planning or other courses of study leading to associate, baccalaureate, or masters degrees in the construction field.
The awards will be given for academic merit, extracurricular activities, potential, and financial need. The scholarships may be renewable each year based on performance in school and available resources. The number of awards as well as the amounts may vary at the discretion of the CBCSF Board of Directors. In recent years, three to five new scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $4,000 per year have been awarded. Between new scholarships and renewals, the CBCSF is currently committed to a total of $70,500 in scholarships to 22 young men and women during the current academic year.

Completed applications with all the necessary information and attachments must be received by March 1.
Scholarship recipients and up to two of their family members will be invited to be guests of the CBC at the CBC Annual Meeting and Project Team Awards Banquet in June 2024 where they will be recognized for their achievements.
Connecticut Community Foundation - New scholarship deadline February 17, 2025. Renewal deadlines vary. Must reside in CCF's 21 town area, require a B- (2.75) minimum cumulative GPA, are available to first-time/current/returning college students, and may be renewable. Connecticut Criminal Justice Educational and Charitable Association - deadlines April 15, 2025. Scholarship(s) will be awarded on the basis of the applicant's character, leadership qualities, scholastic aptitude and connection to or interest in law enforcement.
Connecticut Nurserymen's Foundation, Inc. - deadlines are March 10, 2025.
Connecticut Parks Association - Dennis Malone Memorial Scholarship Award Program - deadline April. Check for 2025 update. The awards are open to applicants who are high school graduating seniors planning to attend an accredited two or four year college and pursue a career in park management, forestry, horticulture, agronomy, or a closely related field. Scholarships may be awarded up to $1,000, depending on the number of recipients. Selection for the awards is based on financial need, academic achievement, and involvement in activities related to the intended course of study.
Connecticut Resource Conservation and Development Area Scholarships - deadline April. Check for 2025 updates. Open to graduating high school seniors pursuing a career in agriculture or conservation and technical or college students currently matriculated in a conservation or agriculture degree program in Connecticut. Applicants should demonstrate participation in after school activities related to agriculture or conservation, must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, financial need, and plan to pursue a 2- or 4- year agriculture or conservation program at a post-secondary technical school, college, or university in Connecticut, and must have the endorsement of their Guidance Counselor on their application attesting they meet the eligibility requirements for this scholarship program.
Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers - deadline March 1, 2025
The Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE) now accepts nominations for its college scholarship awards (see attached form or go to www.csce.org). Applicants should be incoming freshmen currently accepted into a college, university, or technical school, in a civil/environmental engineering or construction-related program. The CT State USBC Association (United States Bowling Congress) - deadline March 31. Check for 2025 updates.
The CT State USBC Association is once again seeking applicants for their academic scholarship. The applicant does NOT need to be an active bowler. The parent or grandparent must be a current member of the Connecticut State USBC Association. The student must be a senior who is planning to continue their education in the summer or fall.
The scholarship is $1,000.00. The winner should plan to attend the Youth Awards Festival on a date to be determined.
All documentation must be postmarked by March 31.
If selected as a finalist, an interview by the scholarship committee will be required. The chairman of the committee will set up this interview.

CT Daughters of the American Revolution Gertrude Wells Russell-Marie B. Wells Scholarship - deadline April 15, 2025. The Gertrude Wells Russell-Marie B. Russell Scholarship - Trumbull-Porter Chapter, NSDAR. CTDAR awards up to five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who will be entering their first year of college the following year. Each student needs to contact his or her local CTDAR chapter for sponsorship.

CT Timber Association Natural Resource Scholarships - deadline May 1, 2025. The Connecticut Professional Timber Producers Association is now accepting applications for two $500 scholarships for Connecticut high school students who are planning on attending a two or four-year school of higher education in the field of natural resources.
Dare Greatly Foundation website - Deadline is May 1 of each year. Check for 2025 application open date. The Dare Greatly Foundation will award ten (10) one-thousand dollar ($1,000) scholarships.

EdAdvance Scholarship Opportunity - deadline April 15, 2025. EdAdvance is once again offering a $1,500 college scholarship to four graduating high school seniors from throughout the region. League of Women Voters Litchfield Scholarship - deadline April 15, 2025
A $1000 scholarship awarded to a Litchfield County public high school senior. Runners-up, will also be announced. The chosen winner will be a student who has exhibited a passion for the study of civics and has demonstrated an interest in good government and community involvement through participation in school leadership or local volunteerism. A committee of League members will choose the winner.
Open to any Litchfield County public school senior, who has been accepted to a secondary education or vocational training program, may apply for the scholarship. The application will require an essay of less than 500 words, as well as a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
All application materials will be due by April 15th, with winners chosen and announced by the beginning of May.
Litchfield Hills Audubon Society - deadline April 25, 2025. The Litchfield Hills Audubon Society (LHAS) offers two $2,000 academic scholarships for those students who have been accepted in college programs specializing in environmental studies or a related field.
Mountainside Bright Future Scholarship - deadline May 1, 2025 - Open to high school juniors & seniors living and enrolled in schools in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, or New Jersey. Through a personal essay, applicants will share how their addiction or their loved one’s addiction has affected their life, raising awareness and highlighting the reality of this disease.

Naugatuck Valley STEM Inclusive Opportunity Network (NViSION) - Applications before March 30 get priority viewing. Closes June 18. Commit to enrolling full-time at NVCC in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics degree programs until completion of the degree and/or transfer to a 4-year college or university. This year a scholarship award of $1,000 will be given to a graduating high school student from Seymour or Oxford, who has been accepted and plans to attend a college, university, or other institute of higher learning. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior or college student who is a Southbury resident majoring in horticulture or a related field. Applicants must be enrolled in or plan to enter a field that is compatible with the club's goals of promoting an interest in horticulture, furthering the management and conservation of natural resources, or increasing knowledge in creative use of plant material. Qualifying courses include, but are not limited to, greens keeping, winery, floral design, environmental systems and science, natural resource management, urban planning, and landscaping.
With a growing interest in "green living" new career opportunities in these fields are opening up daily.

Southbury Land Trust - Ivers/Sedergren Scholarship (Southbury Residents)
The Ivers / Sedergren Scholarship is open to students who are residents of Southbury, attend Pomperaug or Nonnewaug High Schools, and plan to pursue an education in conservation, environmental sciences, environmental economics, environmental law, agriculture, forestry, or land management.
Applicants must be in good academic standing, and have a history of community service compatible with environmental issues. Students who have participated in Southbury Land Trust stewardship projects are urged to apply.
Previous Ivers / Sedergren scholarship recipients may be eligible to apply for consideration, depending on the number of qualifying applications received in a given year.
Interested students should apply through their high school counseling office. All applications will be reviewed. The scholarship was initially established in 2006. As of 2022, the scholarship is $1,000.
The Ivers/ Sedergren Scholarship is named in honor of former SLT Board Trustee Gerry Ivers (d.2005) and Justine Sedergren (d. 2019). The two friends were both Southbury residents, and active land trust members who loved nothing better than hiking the land trust’s protected parcels and preserves, and enjoying Southbury’s beautiful open spaces.

Detective Louis D. Razza Watertown Police Benevolent Association Scholarship
Qualifications:
Must be entering first year of college, a resident of Watertown/Oakville, and pursuing a career in the criminal justice field
OR
2. Must be entering first year of college and an immediate family member of a police officer
Funds Available:
A check in the amount of $500.00 will be issued towards the student's education expenses (i.e. tuition, books, etc.) Once the Watertown PBA receives a copy of an invoice for same.
An official award presentation will be made at the Watertown Police Department at a date to be determined (student need not be present if away at school and can send a representative to accept on their behalf.)
This scholarship is non-renewable.
