Mrs. Carrillo

Centennial Middle School Technology

Hello and welcome to my teacher page!

My name is Kimberlee Carrillo and this year will mark my 29th year of teaching. Although I love Colorado, my young family and I moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1993 for my first teaching position at Service High School where I served as the 9th Grade Honors Coordinator, supervised a computer lab and taught American History and U.S. Government. My family and I moved back to Colorado in 1995 and I have been teaching at Centennial ever since. At Centennial, I have taught Colorado History, America History, Civics, Reading and Technology. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Western Colorado University and a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Technology from the University of Phoenix.

My family is the center of my life! We enjoy taking family vacations and visiting National Parks. I love being outdoors, taking my dogs for walks and photography. I was an athlete in my younger days and have always been a huge sports fan, especially of the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets.

I love being a teacher and I look forward to getting to know you!

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: I believe that the goal of education to prepare students for adulthood. My job is to help students build the skills and gain the knowledge they will need to become successful adults. I believe it is important for students to know to manage their time, stay organized, demonstrate self-discipline, work with others; think critically and be able to solve problems. Students should have the opportunity to discover their strengths and interests and to be challenged to grow each day by trying new things.

Overlying Learning Goals:

  • Practice safe and responsible use of technology

  • Know how to use a variety of computer applications and be able to choose the most appropriate application for the task at hand

  • Be able to think critically and solve problems

  • Use your creativity to design and produce multimedia, digital products and to program animations and games
