Students have 3 general assignments to complete before the start of school in August:
*one activity for Religion class; *one activity for Social Studies; and *one activity for Literature class
Students need to join the Google Summer Classroom for their 22-23 year. This is where students can find all the information and materials to complete the specific summer assignments for each class. There is a topic section for each of the three assignments from the three different teachers. If a you have a question or need clarification, please post your question under the specific assignment topic that relates to your question so that the specific teacher can help you.

Please choose one of the following movies to watch! The previews are linked here. These are the films to choose from. (Please note the awesome BEN HUR film is the 1959 classic starring Charlton Heston.)
Make sure your parents know what you are choosing. These movies are from all rating categories.
After watching your film choice, complete the attached activity sheet electronically and submit it to this assignment.

Explore Egypt
8th Grade Students may choose one of two options:
1. Read the Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan and take a quiz the 2nd week of school
OR
2. Visit a museum and complete the slideshow. The info for the slide show is attached below.
The History Museum of Mobile has an exhibit on the Vikings until June 12th, but you can visit that museum anytime this summer. If you're making any trips to New Orleans, their Museum of Art has an exhibit on ancient Egypt's Queen Nefertari until July 17th.
1. Enjoy reading books of your choice!!
2. Record books on the Summer Reading Record 2022 below, print and bring to class August 18.
3. Prepare a Book Talk (directions below) on your favorite book read this summer. Names will be randomly selected starting August 18.
