About Us

Mrs. Wilson- 5B

This is my 20th year teaching fifth grade at Christ the King Catholic School. I attended Saint Pius X Catholic in Mobile, and I graduated from McGill-Toolen High School the first year that Bishop Toolen and McGill Institute merged. Before getting a degree in teaching from the University of South Alabama, I had a successful career in banking.

I married a wonderful man and helped him raise two children. I now have 6 grandchildren who are priceless. My husband served our country in different ways throughout his life. My first year as a teacher, Grady was sent by the Coast Guard to New York on September 11 and spent weeks there helping with getting the city back up and running.

I love teaching and have a simple philosophy.

I believe that students deserve a high quality, Christ centered education. I believe that they will strive to reach expectations and generally want to please. Their education is essential to them obtaining short term and long term success.

Mrs. Cortopassi- 5A

This is my fourth year teaching 5th grade at Christ the King. I went to Christ the King from preschool through eighth grade. I attended McGill-Toolen High School and The University of South Alabama, where I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education.

I have two daughters: Anne Hayden and Addison. Anne Hayden is almost 8 and is in second grade at CTKCS. Addie turned 2 in July and goes to a precious daycare in Daphne until she joins us here next year! My husband coaches football and baseball at St. Michael. We also have an adorable two and a half year old black lab named Miller.

I absolutely love what I do, and I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. I am so excited for this year; it's going to be great! 😊

We've known each other for quite a long time. Mrs. Wilson taught Mrs. Cortopassi in fifth grade, too!

Here are a few other pictures of us. We are known for accidentally matching...even our shoes. 🤪
