Competitive Event Categories

On-Site Events

• Require student participation on the day of the conference.
  
  

• Some On-Site Events may also include components that must be submitted beforehand.
  
  

• Due to the time commitment, students may participate in only one On-Site Event (and no more than four total events overall).
  On-Site Submission: Students submit entries, make presentations, and/or compete in activities at the conference.
  
  

Pre-Conference Events

• Require entries to be submitted before the conference, on dates set by NJ TSA.
  
  

• Judging takes place prior to the conference, and entries are displayed on the day of the event.
  
  

• Some Pre-Conference Events may also include presentations or components at the conference itself.

Pre-Conference Submission:

1. Online Submissions: Certain entries must be submitted through the NJ TSA online system. Submission guidelines will be shared with advisors/students closer to the deadline.
   
   

2. In-Person Submissions: Some events require physical submissions to be delivered to Mrs. Seneca for drop-off at TCNJ.
   
   

Static Events

• Require entries to be submitted on the day of the conference.
  
  

• Students are not required to stay with their projects or give presentations.
  
  

• Typically involve creating a display or prototype.
  
  

• Entries are checked in during the morning of the conference, judged behind closed doors, and then displayed for the rest of the day.
  Static Submission: Physical entries must be brought to TCNJ. Most Static Events also require an online submission.
