About Mr. Rising

Welcome! 

My name is Mr. Rising, and this is my eighth year as a teacher at Conemaugh Township! This year, I will be  teaching AP Physics C: Mechanics, Programming, LEGO Robotics, Strategy & Logic, and Algebra. I also work with Mrs. Custer in leading the Gifted Program. If having fun with academics/STEM strikes your interest, I strongly recommend checking out extracurriculars and community programs I help out with, including MathCounts, M3 Challenge, Scholastic Quiz, TSA, and more.

I graduated from University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2018 with bachelors degrees in Secondary Math Education and Applied Mathematics, as well as a minor in Physics. More recently, I have earned my masters degree in Physics from Texas A&M - Commerce in 2023. In 2025 I became certifed in Computer Science 7-12 through the CEO initiative with Carnegie Mellon University and University of Texas at Austin.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and pets, playing board games, and all things related to Pokemon. Professionally, I have also started a side adventures with AAPT as a Physics Teaching Resource Agent (PTRA), leading physics and science teacher workshops in our region, and as K-12 Education Community Co-Chair, connecting with physics teachers across the country.
