1. Go over the directions: What do you and don't you understand about the assignment?

2. Find another math student you can call or text for help if you are unclear about the assignment or want to review a class lesson. (Create a study group)

3. Can you find information in your notes to solve the problem? Is there a similar problem in your notes/textbook?

4. Can you draw or make a picture/model to explain your thinking?

5. Ask more guiding questions, such as "What should you do next?" "Is this answer reasonable?" "Did you answer the question?" "Can you solve it another way?"

6. If you struggle to understand the subject matter or have trouble keeping up with the amount of homework assigned, reach out for help and recommendations.

7. Look on-line at Savvas Realize (Honors Alg 1 and Honors Alg 2/Trig) or Khan Academy for a video tutor.
