Hi, y'all! I'm Mikayla O'Brien. I am entering my third year of teaching and first year here at Conemaugh Township - though I'm not a stranger to the district as I student taught in the middle school. I am ecstatic to be teaching ELA 7 and ELA 8 at Conemaugh Township.  I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2020 with a degree in Secondary English Education and ESL. Prior to coming to Township, I worked at Ferndale Area School District.

Some Fun Facts About Me:

I am a proud AGvocate for the agriculture industry. I am involved the Somerset County 4-H Program, Somerset County Fair, Pennsylvania Farm Show, and my husband's dairy farm.

I am recently married to my dairy farmer husband, Matthew! We reside near his family's primarily Holstein dairy farm.

My husband and I have three dogs, a pug mix named "Honey," a German Shepherd named "June," and a mixed breed rescue named "Danny."

Back in the day, I reigned as Somerset County Fair Queen and the first ever National Miss Agriculture USA. I now volunteer with both programs as well as the Miss Keystone State Rodeo Pageant.
