Introduction
Following Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) model, we are working with small groups of high school students to teach them about environmental health and working with local artists to develop multimedia STEAM art projects. Our first success is a stop-motion animation about plastics!
ESTA Youth Communicating
The students projects communicate key environmental health concepts to other students, the public, and policymakers. Participating students receive paid summer internships, engage in science education training, and produce high quality art products. Our ESTA youth have developed a stop-motion animation about plastics and will be creating a multimedia arts productions addressing climate change and human health and a mural project addressing agriculture and human health.

Environmental Science Through Art: Agriculture and Human Health (Mural)
In collaboration with Artist Ink, our students have created a vibrant mural that captures the essence of agricultural practices. Through this project, they have incorporated their learnings about both beneficial and harmful agricultural methods, as well as the crucial role of insect life in the ecosystem. This artistic endeavor not only showcases their creativity but also serves as an educational tool, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices and the delicate balance needed to maintain healthy agricultural systems. The mural stands as a testament to the students' dedication and the valuable insights they have gained through this experience.
