Hi, my name is Samantha. I'm currently a third year student majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Math. I was born in the Bay Area, but spent the majority of my childhood in West Sacramento. Growing up, my academic interests consisted of writing and anything tech-related. As for my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and catching up on the latest professional soccer tournament.
My name is Alexa. My family comes from Honduras while I was born and raised in San Francisco. I'm a first-generation student. You wouldn't know this by looking at me, but my first language is Spanish. Currently, I work as a bilingual case manager for the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing in San Francisco while I continue to expand my educational career. I am a 3rd year Psychology Major. I received my AS in Social and Behavioral Sciences in 2020 and in early 2021 I earned my AS in Math and Sciences. I am happy to say that I will be completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at CSUEB! My academic interests lie in the realms of mental health. I began to study Psychology to better understand the thought processes of people. Differences in age, race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, and more play a large role in how people experience the world but also in how the world sees or interact with people. I find it fascination how math and science is used to try to understand every single aspect of being human and how or why people work as a society. Outside of school, I have a pretty busy life. Work is fun and challenging but even after that, I usually need a calm place to take a break. I find that place in music, whether it is listening to it or singing along with it. And if there is a beach nearby, you will also find me there.
