Criminal Justice Internships

The purpose of this website is to provide information to Criminal Justice students on internships available in the Bay Area.  Internships are an important way to apply the knowledge you gained in your coursework to the criminal justice field, in addition to obtaining first-hand experience in the career of your choice.  Some internships are only available during certain months, and others require extensive background checks that can take a year or more.  It is recommended that you research multiple internships to find one that fits your interests and schedule.  This website will be updated multiple times per semester as more internship information is available.  Please direct questions to Dr. Michelle Rippy (michelle.rippy@csueastbay.edu).

The asterisk (*) means that the internship has an agreement in place with CSUEB.  This agreement is required for an internship to be recognized by CSUEB and to receive credit for the internship course (CRJ 415).  The agreement process is handled by CSUEB faculty.

Past CRJ interns have provided some fantastic feedback on internship choice, timing, and balancing of workload.  Read more here!

Please check out the Pioneer Talk Podcast to gain additional information about internship opportunities.  The most recent edition about internships during the pandemic can be found here. A current CRJ student completed an internship with Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) and shared her experiences in a brief video that can be viewed here.
