A professional learning network is group who engages in collaborative learning with others outside of their everyday school community to improve access and opportunity in their school(s) and/or the school system more widely (Brown & Poortman, 2018). The goal of the School Leadership Network for CS is to leverage data to identify opportunities and challenges for promoting ELs’ access to CS through course placement and recruitment policies and practices.
Each participating school team ideally includes at least one administrator or one counselor, and one CS teacher who will engage in a cross-school learning community to collaboratively identify school-based strategies to support programmatic equity in ELs' access to CS. School teams can also include an ELD teacher, an EL student, and/or additional CS/STEM teachers.
