What's Going on in the World?

ANG-5106 Current Events
ANG-5106 "Current Events" is a two-credit optional course within the adult sector.
The inspiration for "What is Going on in the World," came as an answer to the following questions:
How can we get our students interested in local, national and international current events on a weekly basis?
How can we better equip students for their roles and responsibilities within their future workforce? More and more jobs will require employees to ensure an online presence, to be able to research subjects efficiently, to summarize and explain information and to be able to communicate their ideas in a clear and concise manner.
How can we make this course fun for the student as well as something to look forward to for the rest of the class?
Please note that we see this course as an alternative, another tool to add to other ANG-5106 courses that already exist. We are sharing this course in the hope that it will spark some ideas; even if you just get one or two things out of this course, our goal will be achieved. Our view is to offer different course possibilities to different students. Some like to create; let them create! Some are shy; let them find different ways to share their ideas. Some use words, others may use images, music, sound effects... Some like to present live, some will prefer to record their presentations. We tried to put everything in place for every student to find a way to show us their understanding of the world around them. Enjoy!
