The College of St. Scholastica's English Department presents the

2023 Rose Warner Reading Series

NEW DATE March 24, 2023 | 9:30 AM – 1:45 PM

Join us for a free, day-long celebration of English literature for Northland teachers and students, with our special guest speaker, the renowned Minnesota poet, Michael Bazzett.

Celebrating literature and language as an antidote to the troubled world in which we live, the 2023 Rose Warner Reading Series inspires students to explore the creative literary arts on the welcoming Duluth campus of The College of St. Scholastica. All you need to do is show up. We’ll do the rest.

CSS's English Department looks forward to sharing time with the nation's engaged citizens of tomorrow, accompanied by you, the teachers of today. Please note, for teachers attending and participating in sessions organized specifically for you, CSS will provide Continuing Education Unit certificates (5 hours).

For all inquiries, contact the event organizer, Dr. Kevin Quarmby, at kquarmby@css.edu. I am happy to answer any questions and ensure you receive further updates.

"I love the idea of a poem as a house made of breath, and the fact that the word stanza is Italian for room. So poetry is something that can reside in the body: an invisible form that inhabits us, but that we also inhabit. It's a lovely paradox." Michael Bazzett, December 6, 2022, interview accompanying featured poem on Poetry Daily.
