• Go to https://givebutter.com/CSPES2024FunRun 

• Click the "Join A Team" button on the main campaign page.

• You'll be asked to create a Givebutter account or sign in if you already created an account last year. 

• Choose your homeroom teacher as your team and add a few more details such as your fundraising goal and your personal story. Then click Join this fundraiser.

• Share & Manage your student’s personal fundraising page. 

• Students are encouraged to ask relatives, friends, and community members to donate to the Fun Run by sending emails, making phone calls, and other personal outreach!  We drafted some sample language on the bottom of this page to help your Tiger get started! 

• Get creative! Encourage your Tiger to ask your local pediatrician, dentist, grocery store, bank, and other community partners to sponsor them!

• Caregivers may work for an organization that offers an employee match program! Ask your Human Resources or Budget office if  your company will match employee donations to a recognized nonprofit charity (like the CSPES PTO!).

• We will offer a “Tiger Fund” donation option to help support student participation goals for those who may not have the ability to raise funds.

Sample email script to send to family and friends:

Dear <insert name>,

Will you help support me by donating to my new school’s first ever FUN RUN fundraiser? The PTO at my school, Chesapeake Science Point Elementary School, is raising funds to improve our indoor and outdoor recess and learning areas plus help support student experiences and other school improvements to benefit all CSPES students! We have big goals and big dreams, and I would really appreciate whatever you can contribute - $5, $10, $20, or more all goes a long way to helping us reach our goal!

Donating is easy and the PTO is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit and donations are tax deductible!

Your contribution will also help me earn fun individual and class incentives! I could earn the role of being principal for the day at my school, our class could earn a party, and if we raise more than our goal, we get to turn our principal into an ice cream sundae!
