The Artificial Intelligence Lab at the University of Moratuwa serves as a research hub dedicated to unifying the frontiers of artificial intelligence (AI) across the entire spectrum. Our mission is to unite the research taking place at the university under the banner of AI, both as independent research, as well as in collaboration with the industry. Our vision is to drive transformative AI research within the university that empowers the integration of intelligent systems into diverse sectors within Sri Lanka.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been exploring fields of AI since the early 2000s. Today, a majority of final year projects of the department are based on fields of AI.

Artificial Intelligence is a rapidly expanding field with innovations and ideas being put forth each day. With each new branch being formed, it becomes imperative that we understand where concepts fall within the grand scheme. Our lab aims to unify these concepts and guide viewers to research relevant to these fields.
