Research Opportunities in Computer Architecture

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Hyderabad is organizing a five-day workshop on Research Opportunities in Computer Architecture. The primary goal of this workshop is to inspire participants to explore and pursue research in various domains of computer architecture. Leading experts from premier Indian institutes and industry will deliver sessions on recent challenges and emerging research areas in the field.

The workshop is sponsored by Intel, and participants will be provided with several benefits at a minimal registration fee. The workshop is free for those who have successfully completed our previously offered course, Next-Gen Computer Architecture, funded by Intel.

Preparation for internships/jobs in various processor/semiconductor design companies like Intel.
Exposure to recent research aspects and motivation for higher studies in this domain.
The workshop will provide a starting point for research in Computer Architecture. Based on mutual interests, we will mentor the top performing and motivated participants to do further research after completing the workshop.

Who can Participate?

Students - Any student who has done the basic computer architecture course and is interested in getting exposure to advanced topics.
Faculty - Any faculty member who teaches computer architecture and wants to develop skills on advanced and recent topics related to computer architecture.
Industry people/Freelancers – Anyone having awareness of computer architecture and who wants to learn about recent research on this area.

Fee payment - The workshop is primarily sponsored by Intel, and we are charging a very nominal fee from participants.
- The fee is 1500/- for students and 3000/- for others. All fee payments will attract an 18% GST.

The last date for registration is 30th June 2025. However, registration may close earlier if all seats are filled before the deadline.

Free Registration: The workshop is free for those who have successfully completed our previously offered course, Next-Gen Computer Architecture (click here), funded by Intel.
Limited fellowships are available (for those who are not eligible for free registration) to cover a part of travel cost for the faculty members who have taught computer architecture in their institute. After registration, please send an email to us with details of how this workshop will be useful to you along with a recommendation letter from your HoD/Dean/Principal.

Important Points about the Workshop:

The workshop will start at 9.00 am on 11-July and will end at 2.00 pm on 15-July. For detailed schedule please click here.
The registration fee covers accommodation in IITH hostels for students, and in IITH guest house (on twin-sharing basis) for non-students. It also covers meals for the 5-days in IITH mess.
Participants will get the accommodation from the evening of 10-July and need to vacate the rooms by the night of 15-July.
There will be regular attendance and participation certificates will be provided only to those who attend at least 70% of the sessions.
