Hello my amazing families:
My name is Mrs. Xoshilt Sutherlin (you can call me Mrs. S or Mrs. Sutherlin), and I’m so excited to be your child’s teacher! This will be my 7th year working at our beautiful school and my 5th year teaching. I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community.
I graduated from Cal State East Bay with a degree in Psychology and earned my prelimenary teaching credential from CalState TEACH Fresno. Before coming to Saint David School, I worked as a preschool teacher and director for six years. After that, I stepped away from the classroom to explore the administrative side of education. In 2018, I joined Saint David School as the school secretary, where I learned so much and grew both professionally and personally.
Even though I enjoyed my time in the office, I truly missed the joy and energy of being with children. So, when the K/1 teaching position opened up, I took a leap of faith and applied—and I’m so glad I did! I’ve been teaching K/1 since 2021, and I haven’t looked back. It has been one of the greatest blessings in my life.
Kindergarten and first grade are such special years—they’re often a child’s very first school experience! My goal is to help each child grow not just academically, but emotionally and socially, too. I want our classroom to be a place where kids feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. If your child can’t wait to come back the next day, then I know I’m doing my job.
I can’t wait to partner with you this year to make it a joyful and successful one!
I'm a HUGE nerd and absolutely love everything Disney & Harry Potter! I am also a secret wrestling fan, lego addict and video game dork. I hope some of the kiddos can relate to me.
I look forward to watching all of my little ones grow this school year.
