Parenting can be hard!  The responsibility of raising a child with everything else can be tiresome. There is no shame in looking for support or help, especially when your child may be struggling with something. Unfortunately, most of the "advice" parents get doesn't quite hit the mark. That's not due to lack of love or effort, but it's hard to use your adult brain to help a child brain. Below you'll find websites/books/information on a wide range of topics that may offer some insight, words, and guidance on how to best support your child! Depression/Suicide

Unfortunately, many kids across our country are suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts. Yes, even our younger children as they are exposed to so much trauma, inappropriate content on social media, and hear things from their peers.

The number one thing you can do as a parent with a child struggling with depression is to remain nonjudgemental and don't try to "fix" them. Validate their experiences, let them know you're there for them unconditionally, and reach out for support. I'm more than happy to work with a student who is fighting through depression. I may make a referral to a therapist depending on the serverity.
