The compulsory attendance law dictates that students attend school until age 16. It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to notify the registrar’s office of a new telephone number or change of address and to provide proof of residence for the new address. Attendance is an essential component of a student’s academic success. When students are absent or arrive late, they lose important opportunities to learn. Excessive tardiness and absences can prevent children from succeeding academically and socially.
