OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING PERFORMANCES AND SPACE:
In regard to our space, we want to make sure you are aware of the lighting possibilities for the space the days of State Competition. First, there will be both a warm and cool wash of the stage. Second, Down stage (pit covers and apron) and up stage will be lit independent of each other for you to use separately. We’ll also have 3 pools of light DL, DC, and DR.
To help with the movement of set pieces in and out will you please let us know how much of the stage you plan on using and approximately how many square feet your entire set will take up when stored backstage. Our entire stage is 46 feet deep from the furthest DC point to the cyc, it is about 50 feet wide from leg to leg. The apron itself is 18 feet deep at is greatest point and 11 feet at its smallest as it curves to the left and right. From apron to mid-traveler it is 20 feet. We’re hoping that for most, if not all, one acts the 31-38 feet from the front of stage to mid-traveler is enough space to perform. This would allow for easier setup backstage and transition between groups. If you feel your group necessitates the use of the whole stage please let us know by Monday April 13th. and we will accommodate that.
We do not have floor mics available, but the acoustics in our space are really wonderful. We plan on reserving a section for the judges that we will rope off that is fairly close to the stage. For feedback, the judges and the group that just performed will be ushered into the black box theatre which is adjacent to the auditorium for feedback. There are dressing rooms and the black box that the school is "on deck" can utilize prior to performance to change and warm-up.
We will be selling water and some candy and chips for patrons and students that want snacks, but for lunch and bigger meals there are several businesses within walking distance for students to purchase meals. We ask that the students and amazing supporters stay in the auditorium area and refrain from wandering in other areas. There are bathrooms and drinking fountains very close to the theatre. When you arrive at Granger's front entrance, the auditorium will be to your right. We will also have signs to assist humans will entering the correct space.
Please remind students and patrons that the content for one acts can vary and may not be suitable for all audience members. There will be signs posted reminding theatre goers that content may drastically vary.
