Congratulations 2021-22 NJHS Officers

We’d like to thank all of the stellar students who presented ideas for service projects this year. They were well-prepared, well-thought-out, and truly excellent ideas. Based on the voting of your peers and our committee’s input, our officers this year are:

Bently Paynter

Grace Christensen

Ashlyn Cline

Suzanne Reardon

Gianna Skirucha

Officers, your committee mentor will be reaching out to you via email soon to discuss and solidify your projects. We will be posting more details about each project next week, after these meetings take place. Thanks again, everyone, we're looking forward to a great year of service!

First NJHS Meeting: Monday, Nov. 1st @ 2:30

Our first meeting will take place on Monday, November 1st in the DPMS library from 2:30-3:30. During this meeting, we will review specific service hour requirements, preview the website, and vote for NJHS projects.

We need student leaders (you!) to propose project ideas on this date.

If you are interested in being an NJHS officer, please prepare a presentation about a project that we could complete as a group this school year. We will hear student proposals during the meeting, and then all members will vote on which projects NJHS will participate in this year. The student who proposes that project will become an NJHS officer and will take the lead on that project with one faculty council advisor.

COVID Update: Service hours

Hi NJHS! Wow, what a weird year, huh? Some of you have done such a great job collecting service hours, and I promise it was NOT all in vain! If you complete 10 service hours (logged on our NJHS Service Hours Log) by May 22nd, you will receive your completion certificate in the mail and will be recognized on our site. If you were counting on some of our service projects that didn't end up happening this year and you didn't quite get 10 service hours, you will not be penalized or prevented from joining NJHS or NHS next year.

Look for NJHS announcements and applications next year!
