Silent Reading Challenge

Who: You and possibly some friends

What: A day-long silent reading challenge

Where: In the library on one of the comfy gray chairs

When: Friday, February 6th

Why: Silly question! You get to read! And there might be some prizes!

*Teams will have a designated chair on the library floor to fill with a reader all day.

*The team that has the least amount of time with their chair being empty is the winner!

*Any team member with a full 8 period day of classes may use a permission slip form to miss one class period for this event. If you have a free period, you must use that one.

*Signed permission slips are due on Monday, February 2nd by the end of the school day--No exceptions! If you are missing a class you will have two permission slips . One signed by your parent and the other signed by your teacher whose class you are missing.

*No late passes to classes will be given.

*Teams can be any size, but no switching chairs in the middle of class periods, EXCEPT for lunch periods where a switch can be made in the middle.

*Reading must be done on the chair. The point of this challenge is to read. No playing on phones, no homework, napping, or talking to others.

*Registration will close at the end of the school day on Monday, February 2nd.

Permission slips

Parent/Guardian permission slip can be accessed by clicking here.

Teacher permission slips will be available for a total of one class period per reader and ONLY if you have a full load. That can be accessed here.

For example, you can not have a free period 2nd but then also try and take 7th off to miss math.

You can not be a team of one and read all day, even though the librarians think that sounds amazing.
