High school can feel intimidating at first, so we've come together to give you some tips for an amazing high school experience.
Get involved at school and find something you're passionate about!
Do activities that actually interest you. Don't do something just because others think it's "cool." If you don't want to do it, don't do it.
Ask for help when you need it. This will not only raise your grades, but also make it easier when finals come around.
Freshman year counts, don't slack off just because it's freshman year! All of your grades, every semester, will go on your permanent record and count toward your GPA.
Use your assignment notebook, or any kind of daily planner. Let's be honest, you're not going to remember all of your homework if you don't write it down somewhere!
Manage your time. Try not to schedule everything all at the same time because it can become overwhelming.
Do your homework!
Get involved in spirit days, they're actually a lot of fun!
Keep up with what's going on in the school. Read the school newspaper and check your email. https://southblueprint.com/
Don't stop in the middle of the hallway. Don't be the person who walks as slow as humanly possible, or stops and blocks everyone else. Keep it moving so everyone can get to class on time!
Smile at people in the hall! We're all in this together!
Be yourself!
Try to get enough sleep. Yes, it can be difficult at times, but learning in school is a lot easier when you're awake and motivated.
Make or join a group chat for each of your classes. It will make it easier to ask your peers for help and find out what the homework is if you are absent.
Try to keep your backpack clean and organized. It makes finding your stuff a lot simpler you don't have a ton of loose papers and other junk in your backpack.
Don't cram for a test the night before! Spread out your studying so you do not have to panic the night before. You'll be more likely to remember important information if you study for a few days before the test.
