History
The history of DGN's baseball team is filled with achievements and records. The team has won several conference championships, including in 1952, 1954, 1956, 1965, 1971, 1972, 1988, 1997, 2001 and 2023. Coaches like Larry Wyllie, Chad Isaacson, and Paul Franson have led the team to great success. The team has also produced many talented players who have set records in various offensive categories. The most famous being Randy Poffo or known to million's as Macho Man Randy Savage holds the record for the highest batting average at .500.
DGN's success in baseball is also influenced by its participation in the West Suburban Conference. The conference was formed in 1924 and has a long history of competitive sports. The West Suburban Conference is one of the most respected and competitive leagues in Illinois. DGN's participation in this conference has contributed to the success of its baseball team.
