Remember that requirements for colleges/universities often are greater than what  you need to earn a high school diploma.

There are 4 courses that require a completed application in order to enroll in the course. Click on the course title to complete the application.

For students interested in taking a course at Technology Center of Dupage (TCD), the TCD application must be completed first. You can ask you counselor about this when you meet with them in January. If you apply and are accepted, your counselor will enter TCD on your course requests.  Click here to view the TCD Introduction video. Click here to look more closely at the TCD website.

DGS Students & Parents/Guardians: We have added a step in the course selection process that will provide opportunities for more conversations between students and parents/guardians about selecting courses. We hope that this revised process will result in enhanced academic and post-secondary plans after high school.

Step One

Log into your Home Access Center (HAC) account. If you need assistance logging in to HAC, click here.

Click on "Classes"

Click on the "Requests" tab

Step Two

Review the courses you have been recommended for by your teachers. In most cases, you may have discussed this recommendation with your current teacher. For many of the core area courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health) the course will be "Locked".

If you would like to request a change in the course recommendation, you will be able to discuss this with your counselor during your scheduled in-person appointment during the month of January. You can also email your counselor ahead of time to let them know that this is something you would like to discuss further.

Step Three

You will have scheduled in-person appointments with your DGS school counselors in January to discuss your overall course load, choices, and how they may impact your current academic plan, post high school plan, or career pathway. If you have additional questions, you can email them directly here click here to view counselor contact information.

Step Four

To remove course recommendations: Click on the "Edit" button in the Department row for the course(s) you would like to remove.  Unclick the Checkmark in the Request column and Click "Save". The course will disappear from your course recommendations.

To add course requests: Click on the "Edit" button in the Department row for the course(s) you would like to add. Find the course you would like to add, click the box in the the Request column and click "Save". The course is now added to your request list.
