A Message From Our Assistant Principal

Dear GLD Families,

I want to welcome you all back to the 2020/2021 school year. I am entering my second school

year as the Assistant Principal for Glenn L. Downs. I feel so fortunate to be part of this

wonderful community of students, families and staff. It truly is a very special place for learning

and growing.

I know this year is very different. We are all entering it a little apprehensive of what is to come.

Please know, the GLD staff is working very diligently to make this school year a great and safe

one for your children. Even though we ended the year with online learning, this school year we

open with distance learning. You will see as the year begins, that our learning platforms and

structure will be different. It will be very important for every child to have a computer. We do

have enough computers for every child to have one. We are checking them out to the families.

Also, with the families and the staff needing to stay in close communication, please update us

when any of your contact information changes. This way, we can stay connected.

Even though I will not see your child every day, please know I am here to help and support your

child in his/her learning and growing. Please know, I am always here for you and to help work

through concerns and celebrate successes.

I look forward to the day that all our students return to school safely. I sure miss them all

terribly.

This will be a great year with memories that the students can share for years to come, even to

their grandchildren.
