ATTENDANCE

Students are expected to attend class daily at the scheduled time. Attendance will be taken each day.

Please take time to read and print the Syllabus shown below. It is full of important information about our class.

Academic Seminar is a class where students are given direct, specialized instruction in the areas of reading, written expression, and mathematics.

Academic Seminar is a half credit course designed to help students make progress in the general education curriculum and reach their full potential.

Instructional Focus

Each week, we work on skills in four critical areas:

1) Reading Fluency

2) Reading Comprehension

3) Written Expression

4) Math "Gaps"

Each student works at his/her own level on material that is challenging enough to engage them and promote growth, yet not so challenging that the work is frustrating. Our class is about personal growth and improvement in those critical areas.
