Heer Patel (she/her) is a 4th year BS/MS student working with Prof. Leilani Battle in the Interactive Data Lab. She has experience with projects involving data visualization, human computer interaction, user studies, mixed methods, and the occasional LLMs.
Javon Hickmon (he/him) is a BS/MS CS student at the Allen School. He has experience with projects revolving around ML fairness/bias, computer vision, human cognition, and multimodal ML. Throughout his research experiences, he has participated in DREU 2023, worked with NASA, and presented his work at multiple conferences.
Julia Kharchenko (she/her) is a fourth-year CS and Info student at the Allen School/iSchool currently working under Professor Chirag Shah in the Infoseeking Lab. Her research interests are AI alignment, cultural biases in LLMs, and human-centered machine learning and natural language processing. She has participated in a directed research group in the HCDE department, the AI Alignment Club, and the Infoseeking lab, all resulting in publications of papers in NLP. Her current research project is about empirically analyzing LLM responses based on Hofstede cultural dimensions to see if LLMs give culturally-appropriate advice, and she's currently working on submitting this paper to conferences!
Lindsey Wei is a junior at UW double majoring in CS and AMATH. She is doing research in the intersection of data management and machine learning with Professor Magda Balazinska in the Database Group. She is interested in machine learning for data management and information retrieval. Her current research has focused on using knowledge graphs to enhance LLMs on data exploration tasks.
Matthew Shang (he/him) is a 5th year BS/MS student at the Allen School working in graphics and programming languages. His research includes developing a programming language to help biologists catch errors in lab protocols and studying chaotic systems to improve animation behaviors like flocking.
Sehaj Dhillon (he/him) is currently a senior at the Allen School working at the AI for biomedical Sciences Lab under PhD Candidate Wei Qiu. His research areas revolve around Computational Biology. His interest is in data science and computing for health.Â
