Quizzes are released on Gradescope for >=48h and are intended to take ~1-2h of time to complete (more info on quiz logistics). Former students have shared that a good strategy for taking a quiz is:
open the quiz as soon as it's released, to see what topics are covered
review those topics and write up your "draft solution" individually
[optional] meet with your group to share ideas (not answers! just ideas and concepts!). Then take a >=30m break
write up a final solution and submit to Gradescope

Quizzes are released on Wednesday night and due Friday night. We consider any topic up to the Monday before release to be "fair game" for the quiz (yes, quiz topics are cumulative). The topic list for this quarter's quizzes are:
Q1: Basic SQL (includes aggregates, but not aggregates-with-joins)
Q2: Advanced SQL; ER diagrams
Q3: Design theory (eg, BCNF); Relational algebra
Q4: Query execution; Transactions; Parallel query management
Later this quarter, we will release more details about the assignment which replaces the final exam. This assignment will cover topics from the entire term.
