I identify myself with one of the main objectives of the EATCS, which is to promote profound value of theoretical research in CS. Recognition of TCS among European funding institutions seems to me a natural consecutive goal.

I would like to support EATCS in its mission to promote highest academic standards in CS. This includes advocating for top CS conferences to be broadly recognized as prime publication venues.

In the context of various restrictions related to COVID19 pandemic, I am convinced that conferences should return to their traditional onsite format once the restrictions are lifted. Certainly, some forms of virtual participation are beneficial for those who cannot afford to travel. Nevertheless, we should not allow virtual participation in these events to become a long term standard.
