"Hello! I’m Chris and I am Co-Team Leader of the Sioux Empire team with Joey Slieter and I am on campus at SDSU. I love golfing, fishing, hiking and spending time with my wife Heidi! I have really begun to enjoy small house projects and growing the number of things I can respond with, “I can fix that.” I’m passionate about helping people see the goodness of the gospel and getting to know the Creator who loves them deeply. Heidi and I make our home right outside Sioux Falls with our beautiful newborn daughter!"

Erin Cartwright

"Hey there! I'm Erin, and I am a first-year intern living in Sioux Falls and serving at South Dakota State University. As a student at SDSU, I was involved with Cru during my first year, then I have served as a student leader the last two years. God has grown my love for Him and for people, both believers and not-yet-believers, through attending Cru conferences, participating in a summer mission trip to North Myrtle Beach, and having conversations with students on campus. I graduated with a psychology degree, so I absolutely love listening to people's stories and asking them questions to understand how the Lord has brought them to the point they are currently at in life. Aside from talking about Jesus, I love watching movies, going to the gym, drinking matcha tea, and going for walks.

Gracia Harmsen

“Hi! I'm Gracia. I am not on campus daily, but I’m behind a screen every single day connecting with all of our campuses via our Instagram pages. Alongside my work with Cru, I am a mom and homemaker, as well as a freelance designer. I am passionate about finding beauty in the ordinary, every-day moments & loving people well. I love cozy blankets, cooking, spending time in the gym, reading, design, and meaningful conversation. I'm married to Jon and we are raising our family at home in Sioux Falls.”

Jon Harmsen

"Hey there! I'm Jon and I live in Sioux Falls with my wife, Gracia. We have a 6 year old son who is equal parts caring as he is wild and fun. I lead the Cru movement at USD, and I help give lift to the volunteer-led Cru movements in Sioux City and Sioux Falls. I am passionate about holistic discipleship and have a part-time People & Culture (Cru's HR) role as the Midwest's Sexual Wholeness Coordinator for men. I love learning about the intersection of faith/theology, counseling, and neuroscience and how we can bring this into discipleship and the formation of students to Christ. I love a cheap cup of coffee, unhurried time with friends, and spending heaps of time with my wife and son."

I'm passionate about walking alongside students as they discover the beauty of Jesus and experience His grace transform their lives. When I'm not on campus, most of my time is spent being a mama to the sweetest little girls. I enjoy adventuring outside with my family, time spent connecting with friends, and rooting for the Vikings during football season."

Kyle Blake

"Hey I’m Kyle Blake. I have been on staff for about 9 years. Some of those years was spent at various locations in the Middle East. I graduated from Augustana University. It was there that God really got a hold of my heart after a guy from cru knocked on my door and talked to me about Jesus. I am so excited to be back in the Sioux Empire serving alongside staff and students. I have a beautiful wife and three beautiful daughters who I am excited for you all to meet!"

Landen Knoshal

"Hey! I’m Landen and I’m currently serving as an intern with Cru at SDSU and Augustana. I grew up on a family farm in southwest Minnesota and recently graduated from SDSU with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. College was a pivotal time in my life, where through Cru I encountered Jesus in a real and personal way, and it changed everything for me. I’m passionate about helping college students grow in their faith, experience deep community, and step into the mission God has for them. In my free time, I love golfing, working out, running, and watching just about any sport there is."

Mattie Jensen

"Hi, my name is Mattie. I am from a super small town in the Appalachian mountains in North Carolina and I am so excited to be moving to Sioux Falls. I absolutely love exploring the outdoors, traveling, and sharing the good news of the Gospel with others. I have worked in ministry since I was 16 and love spending time in fellowship, discipleship, outreach and missions. I got involved with Crus high school ministry a few years back while taking high schoolers to Zimbabwe, Africa for a month and absolutely fell in love with the ministry. After spending time in prayer, I felt led to Sioux Falls to work in campus ministry and I am so excited to see God move. I am going to be working part-time because I am working at a church doing outreach and missions, while also getting my masters in Christian counseling. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have amazing experiences and the chance to meet new amazing people."

"My name is Natalie and I live in Sioux Falls with my husband Joey and our 3 boys. My role with Cru includes ministering to students on campus, creating newsletters for Cru staff and donors, and most importantly, being a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy cooking and baking, going on walks, and reading."

"Hi! I'm Sydney Mencke. I recently graduated from the University of South Dakota. My time in college was transformational for my walk with the Lord. I am passionate about meeting people right where they are at, learning and growing with them, and pointing them to the One who loves them beyond understanding. After leading with Cru as a student, I am so excited to be stepping back onto campuses to meet students at such a pivotal time in their lives, helping them to see God for who He truly is. In my free time, I enjoy sunset walks, digging in the dirt, singing, and exploring new hobbies."
