About Slovakia

Slovakia is a traditionally Catholic country which leans towards spiritual apathy. Students are more open to talk about spiritual things in the east part of Slovakia while the Western part of the country is very secular and materialistic. Students often become overwhelmed with school, life and work pressures.

Agape Slovakia exists in Bratislava (the capitol) and Kosice (second largest city). Both cities are in a relaunch season. Kosice works with high school and university students while Bratislava works mostly with university students. Slovakia's biggest need is for workers, especially men and young people who can better reach out to their peers. A big question is also how to meet new people and create interest for spiritual things in a relevant way. Slovakia sees a huge potential in social media but needs young people who could bring relevant and interesting content to it!

Young people in Slovakia are hungry about some spiritual content but they don't know people who are believers and live their lives authentically and they are scared to talk about it because Christianity and spirituality is not a topic that is cool. Agape Slovakia is trying to show them more about God and how Christianity is also for them even when they are young.
