The Serbian student movement is at the very beginning. We have a number of students we know, many are nonbelievers and some of which are spiritually open. Even so, there are few graduated believers that were involved as volunteers in two cities. In general Serbian students are friendly, open to talk and welcoming.
The need for the Gospel is great and God is opening doors to use our ministry to fulfil this need. There is a need of recurring Christian presence, whether in short or long term, in 4 student cities (Belgrade, Nis, Kragujevac, and Subotica).
Receiving Needs/Desires
We are open for any short-term teams, anytime throughout the year, that would do initiative evangelism in Nis, Belgrade, Subotica, and Kragujevac; with a plan for online follow-up (discipleship and leading small groups). The teams should be made of at least 4 English speaking, faithful, available and teachable believers.
Spring Break Week – sometime in March, mostly initiative evangelism. The team should be made of at least 6 English speaking, faithful, available and teachable believers.
Summer Project or English Camp in June – 10 days min – 4 weeks max – Winning students for Christ, Starting a discipleship and Sending them to do the same, by modelling initiative evangelism, using different tools and strategies. The team should be at least 8 English speaking, faithful, available and teachable believers.
We are also open to start a partnership where we can receive long-term teams in any of these 4 cities in the continuation of at least 6 years. Each team should stay minimum 1 year, but preferably 2. The teams should be at least 6 English speaking, faithful, available and teachable believers.
Sending Opportunities/Desires
We are not sending at the moment. However in Serbia we desire to expose students to mission outside of their daily fields of influence. Therefore any student that God would raise up as a believing volunteer, we'd like to send them at least once. When students experience how God can use them in the broader scope, they are more passionate and efficient in talking about Jesus in their natural surroundings (friends and families, dorms, campuses, home cities).
